Funding Opportunities

C-PIES Annual Travel Awards

C-PIES provides an annual competitive Research Experience Fund program for graduate students. Research experiences can involve areas such as summer programs or courses, collaborative lab visits, and professional development activities. Funds are not to be used to supplement existing research funding experiences (for example, a site visit to collect data on a funded project) but should promote a unique opportunity for further training in an area of research or professional development interest.  Funds should not be used for conference attendance. Call for applications are usually sent out in the Spring.

Please contact C-PIES cpies@cos.gatech.edu for more info!

Student Government Association Fund

Graduate students can apply to the SGA (maximum $250) and CoS for conference travel funding, which is usually matching funding.

If you are not presenting your research but wish to attend a conference, you should request the Graduate Student Government Career Development fund. Each graduate student is eligible for up to $200 per year towards registration fees for eligible workshops or events. In the case of this funding, conferences where you are presenting your research are not eligible.

College of Sciences offers Graduate Career Connect Travel Grants. Applications are open to those currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student in a CoS degree program. Applicants must have completed at least four semesters of enrollment and be in good academic and disciplinary standing. Applicants are encouraged to present a poster and/or talk at the conference but not required. Students are limited to one CoS GCC Travel Grant per fiscal year.
